Leaving Hwange... on to the Falls

After a night's stay at Hwange Safari Lodge, we were back on the road to Victoria Falls.

On the way, we saw some impalas,

Guineafowl (these were in the park mechanic's driveway, where we stopped because of some car problems.  Alhamdulillah, he fixed it and we didn't have anymore car problems for the rest of the trip)

Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill

Zebras

Giraffe

Southern Ground-Hornbill

Looks like a Robin-Chat

Baobabs

And some not-so-wild animals along the road...

Hwange - Game drive

The afternoon that we arrived at Hwange, we went on a game drive.

The elephants in this area are part of the Presidential Herd (deemed so by president Robert Mugabe).  So, they're protected and you see them everywhere!

Here are some beautiful impala.  Our guide told us that they travel in groups where there is one male to 18 females!

Just the scenery is breathtaking...

And here are some warthogs.  I love how they run with their tails up in the air!

We almost missed seeing this giraffe just staring at us from the distance.

He didn't hang around too long.  Maybe he's camera shy :-)

More elephants...

Here's a croc.

The sun is just starting to go down.  Our drive is almost over.

Just as we were going back to the hotel, we were treated to the sight of this beautiful kudu.  See the birds on his back?
